In progress

I've been working along on the "Three Cornered Shawl in a Clover Leaf Pattern" from Victorian Lace Today. Here's my progress so far, at the end of the first repeat of chart C. I'm hoping I'll have enough yarn. Too soon to tell as I'm not finished with the first ball yet.

And here's my progress on the STR Monsoon colorway sock from the Rockin Sock club. Well, I think we all know what it looks like.

I wandered to your blod from the VLT knitalong. I am eager to see your shawl when you finish. It is one I have considered making, but I have not seen one finished yet.

I'll definitely post pictures when I finish. I haven't found any pictures of a finshed one online either, though I've tried. It's going to take a while, but it's so pleasing knowing each row is a tiny bit shorter than the last :)

Hi Carrie, I found you too from VLT KAL. That's a beautiful beginning of your shawl. I've seen it in person at Stitches West and it's beautiful. I wasn't interested in making it until then, so now this one is high on the list. Thanks, too, for sharing about the Tsuki yarn. Your post peaked my curiosity so I gave Artfibers a visit and walked out with their teal colored Tsuki. The store is now selling their yarns from cones. You can either purchase whole cones or a fraction of one. What they save in materials and labor costs is passed down to us. Now, the larger shawls aren't going to be as costly to make! Yeah!

Hey Barbara,

It's great to know they sell Tsuki in cones! I'm heading to San Fran for work next week, and my office is a couple blocks from the store so I'll have to pop over at lunch and see if there's another color I really must have.

I'm jealous that you saw all the shawls at Stitches West. It looks like it was an awesome show!

Carrie.

I've started the three cornered shawl and am finishing up the first repeat of Chart C. I checked for errata for this pattern and didn't find anything, but now I'm wondering. At the end of row 17 the pattern asks you to K3tog. Every other double decrease has been the SK2P. I now think that many others should have been K3togs and they are wrong on the chart.

How did you do yours and did they turn out okay?

Good grief, sally, you've got a quick eye. I never even noticed that one on the pattern. I've worked it as a SK2P for all of them, and it looks just fine to me.

I also didn't find any errata. Hmm, I think I'll continue with it as SK2P though. I'm down to my last repeat now.

As a side note, I use combined knitting so I'm actually doing that decrease as a K3Tog TBL, since that leans the same way as SK2P for us combined knitters.

I decided that the SK2P s that are on the right hand side of the shawl should be K3tog so that those decreases slant in the same way as the single decreases. I don't know if I am going to bother trying to do anything about it or not.

I'm knitting mine in 100% silk. The yarn is beautiful but not as forgiving as some in terms of minor mistakes (such as the one in the pattern). I'm thinking about using it for something else and starting this over in some deep rose-colored Kidsilk Haze I have. I don't know. Yours looks very nice.

I love this shawl. I saw it on the Victorian Lace today KAL. Can you please tell me the color of the yarn you used? Thanks so much! Joan

Hey Joan, it's color number 1 of the Tsuki. I'd call it lavender.
